Child Abuse Awareness Month- April 2023
Child Abuse Prevention Month is our biggest opportunity to step up and educate our friends, families and neighbors about child abuse and neglect, and how we individually and collectively can help prevent it. But given the continued situation with COVID-19 and physical distancing, we are all having to find new, creative ways to safely do so.

“You’ve been flocked”
All April
We will be flocking yards with 28 blue flamingos which represent the 28 cases that our volunteers work on. These cases involve children that have been removed from their homes.
How it works
Help support Great Plains CASA for Kids this year while having a little BLUE flamingo fun! Make a donation to send a flock of blue flamingos to your friends’, family members’, or neighbors’ front yard! The recipient will then have the opportunity to choose the next house (by paying a suggested donation fee of $50). The recipient is not required to make a donation. The flock will be moved to the next house after [1-2 days] regardless of a donation.
The flocking is done in good spirits and is not meant to be mean. The flamingos will roost on your lawn for a day then they will mysteriously migrate to another victim’s lawn.
Protect your lawn from the flocks! We now offer flocking insurance for a donation fee of $75.
